Privacy Policy

BifrostTV is a media player for streams you provide. It is built to keep your data on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what happens with your information.

The short version

What is stored on your device

• Your sources — the M3U playlist addresses and Xtream Codes logins you add. On iPhone and iPad they are kept in the iOS Keychain when it is available. On Apple TV they are kept in the app's private storage on the device.
• Your favorites, recently watched (with where you stopped), multiview presets, the teams you follow in My teams, reminders and settings. These are kept in the app's private storage on the device. For Xtream sources, the saved channel links contain your login, because that is how Xtream stream addresses are built.
• A cached copy of your channel lists and programme guide, so the app opens quickly. It contains the same stream addresses as your source.

On iPhone and iPad, your favorites, recently watched, presets and settings are normally included in your device's own iCloud or computer backup, if you use one. None of this is sent to us. The app only uses it to connect to the sources you chose.

Network connections BifrostTV makes

• Your own sources — the M3U and Xtream Codes servers you added, and the addresses listed in them, such as the programme guide (EPG) file and channel logos. Traffic goes directly from your device to those servers.
• Football scores — the Teletext pages and the scores in My teams come from Olmo Technologies' football data service, which runs on Supabase. Each request names only what to fetch (a day's matches, the matches being played now or a league table), never a team, and carries a public app key that is the same for every user. It contains no account details, none of your sources, not the teams you follow and nothing about what you watch. The service gets the scores from API-Football and football-data.org; your device never contacts them. Like any connection over the internet, the request comes from your device's IP address, but the service is not told who you are.
• App updates — when the app starts, it asks Expo's update service (u.expo.dev) whether newer app code is available, and downloads it from Expo if so. The request contains technical details such as the app version, the platform, a random installation ID created by the app and, if the app crashed while starting last time, a short technical description of that error. It contains no account details, none of your sources and nothing about what you watch.
• Chromecast (iPhone and iPad) — BifrostTV uses Google's Cast software to find Chromecast devices on your local network. The device you pick receives the stream address, which for Xtream sources contains your login, and plays it straight from your source. Google's Cast software also sends Google technical data: a device identifier, diagnostic data and how the Cast features are used. Google declares this data as not linked to you and not used for tracking. It is handled under Google's privacy policy. Nothing is sent to us.
• AirPlay — handled by Apple's own system software on your local network. Nothing is sent to us.

Reminders

On iPhone and iPad, if you ask to be reminded about a programme, the reminder is scheduled by your device and stays on it. Nothing is sent anywhere: there is no push service, no account, and no server that knows what you plan to watch. Turning notifications off for BifrostTV in your device settings stops them, and removing the app removes them.

Payments

Any purchase is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. BifrostTV never receives your payment details. Refunds follow Apple's and Google's policies.

Children

BifrostTV is not directed at children under 13. It has no accounts and asks no one, including children, for personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
